About Our Three Year Teacher Training Program
Invest in yourself - Build a practice - Serve others.
Becoming an Alexander Alliance Teacher means living a life with people.
The Alexander Alliance offers you solitude and camaraderie. It grants you the precious time and space needed to deepen the quality of your attention,
coordination, and responsiveness, while learning how to help others to do the same. Upon graduating, you will have acquired the
sensitivity and the skills to be an effective and successful Movement School teacher.
As we become more articulate and fluid somatically, so we become more articulate and fluent verbally. We become sensory literate.
We learn to see clearly and benevolently what is right in front of our eyes, as well as what lies beneath the surface. We behold people: we hold people’s beings.
We joyfully pass on the skillful tradition of “teaching by hand”, entrusted to us by Marjorie Barstow.
We are rescuers of human touch as a renewable resource for education, nurturance, and growth. Our intent is to gently unharness
deep, naturally organized patterns of vitality within ourselves and our students. This groundswell of energy strengthens the will
to live, love, learn, and work generously and freely.
We touch people with a depth and quality of human contact that is nothing less than extraordinary.
This is what it means to be an Alexander Alliance teacher.
